What is the cost of freedom? What would you risk? What would you give up? What would you do?
On the planet of Capys, freedom is at stake. This planet was once home to seven independent nations that lived together in peace. Lexeron, the largest nation in terms of both land mass and sheer numbers was always known for its instability. It was also known for the hideous creatures known as Nightmares that dwelled in the Mountains of Endless Fire. But, like the other six nations, humans dominated the population of Lexeron. The nation of Verso pride and joy was its skilled army. Verso was also known for being partial to Lexeron’s viewpoints. The nation of Garavale, though smallest in size, was once known for its skilled magic users, many of which resided in the Hills of Silence. The second smallest nation of Capys, Thios, was known for its skill in mining and working with precious stones. The nations of Fendant and Allamore, who bordered the vast Forest of Whispers, were known for their skilled carpenters and wonderful wooden creations. Some say this was because the forest they bordered was enchanted. Adura, the seventh nation of Capys, was known not for its size, or army, or magic, but for its noble and wise leaders as well as for their deep appreciation for the elements around them.
But after centuries of peace, the sense of calm has been tossed aside due to the greed and instability of one leader of the seven nations, King Horoman of Lexeron. Over a period of 5 years, King Horoman along with the Nightmares, have waged war across the land of Capys, taking control of nation after nation. After having 6 of the 7 nations under his control, he changed the name of his nation to “Greater Lexeron”. He allowed the nations under his control to remain provinces of Greater Lexeron and keep their old names. There was however, one nation still standing to defend its freedom. That nation was Adura, under the control of its young queen, Nalarae. King Horoman has now set his cruel eyes upon the beautiful nation standing in his way of complete control.
But why did this war begin? What cause Horoman to want more? Some people believe he was angered by the rejection of his proposal to the young Aduran Queen, and decided that if Adura would not become one with Lexeron in a peaceful manner, he would take it by force. Others believe that Lexeron was unstable to begin with and the egotistical king was the last straw. Adura’s people were on the brink of war and the Queen was at a loss.
The people of Adura were not going to let anyone destroy their lands and enslave their civilians. No, they would fight, but they could not do it alone. Queen Nalarae of Adura, on the eve of battle, paced the halls of her stone castle. She needed a plan, she needed help, but from who? That bloodthirsty King Horoman had already managed to bring all other nations of their planet under his control. Suddenly an idea flashed across her mind. Her mother, years ago, had given Nalarae a wooden box with strict instructions. She could recall her mothers calm voice as she placed the box in Nalarae's small hands. "Nala, when I am long gone and you need aid in ruling our people, open this box, and you will know what to do." The memory faded and the queen ceased her strategic pacing . She retrieved the box and with the small amount of magic she knew, opened the lock. Inside, there were six gems; a sapphire, a golden topaz, an emerald, a ruby, an amethyst and a moonstone. Also inside was a scroll with an incantation. Nalarae held each jewel and repeated the chanted words for each one. After she finished speaking the sacred words, the jewels vanished. Did it work? The exhausted queen would have to wait to find out.
Crossing the vast universe back to Earth, a series of events closely related to the happenings in Adura were about to unfold. A petite antique shop in a small town inexplicably gained six new additions to its collection. Six unknowing customers were about to end up at this very shop on the outskirts of town for very different reasons, all at the same time; 6:00 PM on November 13th, 2013. As they browsed the store, each set of eyes fell upon a different item. These antiques seemed harmless, but as soon as they were held in use, the customers gained the powers of the jewels upon their chosen item and were transported to Adura, where they would meet Nalarae. Will they choose to aid her? Or go their separate ways? The Queen can only wait and see. Who else in the realm of Capys will be willing to fight for Adura's noble cause, FREEDOM.[/ul]
